I enjoyed all three of the short stories in the book An Amish Kitchen. Also included are about 20 recipes that look good! This is a sweet book that I highly recommend.

An Amish Kitchen is a collection of three different stories which take place within the Amish community of Paradise, Pennsylvania along with a reading group guide, a short collection of home remedies, and Amish recipes.

The first two tales are romantic in nature as two new couples find each other within this tight-knit community. The third story teaches tolerance and acceptance among family members - whom we have a tendency to be most critical of - in the name of love, of course.

As to be expected with Amish stories I have to admire the simple nature of Amish life. Unafraid of hard work, a community that comes together in times of need, and their reluctance to depends on technological gadgets for fear they may become distractions to their faith and beliefs. I feel both awe and respect to a group of people who willingly live without electricity and modern-day conveniences in this day and age.
