a detective searches for a brutal killer. Don't want to give away too much of the book. If you know Layman and his work then you need no introduction. This story is mostly dialogue and moves very fast.
Lots of sex & gore which is typical Laymon. Although it wasn't a bad read, it was hard to take the characters seriously. Found it almost laughable how his lead female character, a police officer, could still manage to run around either shirtless or naked while in hot pursuit of the killer.

This one turned out to be much better than I thought it was going to be. The twist at the end certainly took me by surprise! I honestly didn't see it coming and I think it saved the book as a whole, since it seemed a bit more crass than the other Laymon books that I have read. Still, all of his books are fast reads and definitely entertaining page-turners.

GREAT BOOK !!!!! I am so glad I finally decided to read this book that had been sitting on my shelf for months... I had never heard of this author before and took a chance and am I ever glad that I did! What an exciting book this was....read it all in one day!!! Could not put it down and the big twist at the end I sure did not see coming and I generally am very good at closing in on a "twist"....but this one really surprised me! If you want a good read.....little gory in parts....but that is why people read mystery/thrillers ....for the scare factor and sometimes gore is part of it. Try this book!

I'm a huge Laymon fan and have read most of his books, this one was disappointing. It meanders a lot and is lacking a lot of the stuff that I enjoy in his other books. It's not a bad thriller I guess but not a very good Laymon book in my opinion. I don't think he knew where this book was going while he was writing it and it's like he just randomly decided to throw in twists here and there.
Personally I'd say skip it with so many other awesome Laymon choices.

richard laymon stays consistant with writing at least a good book, some great. this one was his funniest yet i've read.i give it 4 out of 5 stars.

Laymon doesn't disappoint...although I will admit there isn't nearly as much violence, gore, etc in this book as there are in some of his other books. Still a good read for Laymon fans.

A Richard Laymon Horror novel. A little bit off the beaten path for this author. It is more of a murder mystery with plenty of blood and gore, and a little dark humor.

Richard Laymon is awesome! If you like horror, you will not be disappointed!
very suspenseful. This is great author--largely unknown in the US but well known in Europe.

Like King & Koontz, Laymon is a master of thrilling novels.
