I guess I'm in the minority here because I thought this book was poorly written and mediocre at best. I bought it because I saw so many great reviews even though I don't normally read Ellora's Cave books (unless they are authored by people I already like) because they always disappoint me. This one was true to form though I actually really wanted to like it. To me this book lacks substance, has erratic writing, is amateurish, and is, well . . . boring. Despite this story being about a menage a trois, even the sex scenes are lackluster and unimaginative. If you like soap operas and melodrama, you might like this book. If you are expecting character development and good writing, stay away.

Great read with an unusual historical setting, it takes place several years after the Battle Culloden. One of the heroes is Angus, who was indentured for participating and the second is an English earl who is dying of a wasting disease. The heroine is the daughter of laird who fell at Culloden. Very engaging story and fascinating characters. The author managed to deliver a three-hankie ending AND a happily-ever-after. No mean feat! I will look for more from her.

Historical erotic romance from Ellora's Cave. Edgar, the Earl of Callender rescues Emily from a bad situation. He makes her his (platonic) traveling companion, and of course they fall in love. But, Edgar is older, and ill. So everybody thinks Emily is a golddigger. The couple want a son, but Edgar has a genetic illness. So, they turn to Angus, who is the groom. How far are they willing to go, for love? I enjoyed this book. Edgar, Emily and Angus are all sympathetic. The writing is good, the plot a little cliched, the sex scenes hot, and the HEA satisfying. Worth a credit.
