If you're looking for an academic biography of June Carter Cash this might not be the book for you. Son John tends to ramble and reemphasize the same strengths in his mother over and over. But it is well worth the (very easy) read. John paints a picture of a broken woman who found a sure foundation in Jesus and in her family's heritage. A beautiful tribute!! I'm very glad I read it!

I grew up listening to Johnny & June Carter Cash, my parents were fans. After the movie "Walk The Line" came out, I found myself wanting to learn more about these people who were so much a part of my childhood. This book, written by their son John Carter Cash, tells the story of June the singer/songwriter, June the daughter, June the mother, June the Friend, and of course June the wife of Johnny Cash. The book also shows us other sides of June, her pain, her faith, her humor, her love of her family and friend, her kindness, and her neverending trust in God. I came away after reading this book with a deep admiration for June Carter Cash, the woman.

I enjoyed this book. Although John Carter uses several quotes and passaged from his mother's book, I found this book to be a look at both the good and bad in June Carter's life. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading about not only country music legends but also reading about a remarkable woman with strong faith and convictions who loved her family with all her heart.
I learned alot about the Carter family in this book. I also found out the conflicts between these 2 larger than life stars. I would recomend this book to anyone who loved Johnny Cash or June Carter or the Carter family

I really enjoyed this book but then I have been a fan of Johnny Cash and June Carter for years. Their son, John Carter Cash, tells a lot of behind the scenes of June Carter--the struggles June had putting up with Johnny, the bouts with drugs with Johnny. What surprised me the most was John Carter telling of June's addiction with drugs. I had never heard that before. Through out the book you can tell that John Carter had a very deep love for his mother. I really enjoyed the book.
