This first novel by Jay Brandon about Chris Sinclair, District Attorney in Bexar County, Texas (San Antonio) has a lot of intrigue and portrayal of truly evil. Politician, polemicist, power-figure Malachi Reese is black, charismatic as they come, and only slightly less scary than Hannibal Lecter. Brandon has very compelling characters with a somewhat surprise twist at the end. A really good read.
