This was the first book I read by Nora Roberts. I had the impression that she wrote sappy romance novels, but I was mistaken. In this book she expertly combined mystery, suspense, murder, and romance into a capivating story that was beautifully written. I have never been to Wyoming, but her descriptions painted such a vivid picture for my imagination that I am interesting in visiting Wyoming now.
Helpful Score: 9
Once again, Nora Roberts superbly writes a murder mystery that keeps you turning the pages. The heroine is very likeable because she is imperfect like most of us. It was gratifying to see her successfully reach each milestone during her recovery process from a horrifically tragic event. The best part was she didn't have to do it alone. She makes some wonderful friends in Angels Fist, Wyoming, and I guarantee you will fall in love with each one of these characters. This includes the reluctant hero, Brody, who did not sign up for the job and never wanted any part of the action. But he's a keeper! The dialogue throughout the book is wonderful because it makes you feel as if you are right there watching the story unfold. That is the gift of a good writer and Nora Roberts has hit the mark again!

great read-she pulls you in and keeps you there-hard to put down. The location is described so beautifully, you can almost see it.

This is the second Nora Roberts book that I have read and I thoroughly enjoyed both of them. In this story, Reece Gilmore is trying to put her life back together after being the sole survivor of a brutal crime back in Boston. She has been drifting around the country and settles down in Angel's Fist, Wyoming because that is where her car broke down and she ran out of money. She takes a job as a short-order cook in the local diner and tries to act as normal as possible. She is doing an okay job of it until she goes hiking one day and witnesses a brutal murder. She is the only witness, and the police can't find a body, or a missing person, or any evidence of a crime. No one believes her except for a gruff loner named Brody. Everyone else thinks she is having flashbacks from the crime back in Boston. Reece must prove that there was really a murder or else she has fears for her own sanity. I just couldn't put this book down - the mystery kept me guessing until the very end.

This book was awsome. I read a preveiw of it in another book and searched for this book for two months afterward. It was worth the search I loved it. One of Nora Roberts Best books.

Another intruiging story from my favorite author. It kept me guessing to the end and I still didn't see it coming. Glad I didn't see the film before I read the book.

Great plot, loved the fact the main character is a chef, has a lot of foodie type information that I enjoyed.

This was a fantastic read. Not only was it one of her best romance stories, it involves suspense. This is a must read!!

A really good "who done it" book. I could not figure it out until almost the end. I believe there is a movie on the Lifetime channel that Heather Locklear plays this main character. An excellent read as most Nora Roberts books are.

This book was a real page turner. Reece is the sole survivor of a brutal crime back East. Trying to regain her lift she settles temporarily near the Tetons. While hiking she witnesses a murder below her on a cliff. By the time she reaches Brody, a gruff loner, further down the trail the couple are gone. No one seems to believe Reece except Brody. The story has witty dialogue, engaging, quirky characters. sizzling romance and a beautiful setting.

This book was really good. It has romance and suspense. The characters are unique in their own way. In the middle of the book, I thought I knew 'who did it' and then I changed my mind only to find out I was right with my first guess. It only goes to show you, trust your instincts.

Well written book that kept me on the edge of my seat. A very sweet love story in addition to a murder mystery sprinkled with some great cooking! I would love to have the recipe for Chicken Frangelico!

Nora Robert's latest. I read chapter 1 at the end of Blue Smoke and could not wait for the paperback, so I bought the hardcover. A great read by the ever fulfilling Ms. Roberts.

The heroine moves to a small Wyoming town to escape her violent past. One day she witnesses a murder. But by the time she calls for help, there is no body, no missing person, and no evidence of a crime. No one believes her except one lone man. Everyone else thinks she is remembering the violent attack from her past.

I guess this is yet another book I differ with most reviewers on lol.
I usually love anything written by NR/JDR, and although I loved the 'scenery' of this book and wish to visit this area, I just didn't like the story itself. The characters didn't mesh for me and though it was a mystery, I knew 'whodunit' somewhere in the first or second chapter.
This felt very out of sync with the normal level of writing I expect from a Nora Roberts book. I understand that her stand-alone and her series/trilogies often differ in style, which is one thing I like about her writing since she is such a prolific writer. I rarely if ever get a deja'vu sense when I read her books back to back, but with this one I did. I felt I had read this plot/story from her before and it was written much better in the past.
Saying this I realize I will probably never get this off my shelf lol, but take my review with a grain of salt, as I have read so many reviews praising this book. I'm sorry to say this just didn't do it for me.

Excellent story - great plot, character development and interaction, build of suspense. So many nuances from the book didn't make it into the movie so read the book for classic Nora twists!
AS ALWAYS ANOTHER GREAT BOOK BY NORA ROBERTS
Roberts is awesome and I always enjoy her books this one was no different. Loved it...
Congratulations to Roberts for keeping the villian unknown to me until almost the end. I had to keep turning the pages to satisfy my curiousity.
Angel Fall will keep you on the edge. A must read!
very good book! i read a lot of Nora Roberts and agree that this is definitely one of her best. Keeps you on your toes!! Excellent read.
A must-read for any Nora Roberts fan. This was one of her best!
Wonderful read, has a little twist which makes it hard to put down it keeps you guessing!
When Ms. Roberts writes romantic suspense, she is truly in her element. With touches of dialogue and character development that remind me of Eve Dallas in the "...IN DEATH" series written as J.D. Robb, ANGELS FALL is a great example of a thrilling, exciting, yet romantic story that puts you right in the middle of what is going on. If you like romantic suspense, if you like action-adventure, if you like a good thriller mixed in with an engaging "who dun it?" mystery, you'll truly enjoy ANGELS FALL!!
Good read. Love story with a plot line that kept me not wanting to put the book down.
This was a great read! Instantly compelling and page-turning. I was interested in the main character's psychological issues as she struggles to make a new life for herself in Angels Fall. It was also a great murder mystery that kept me guessing until the end. One of my favorite Nora Roberts books in a while!
Very engaging. I got caught up in this one and couldn't put it down!
I loved this book! For anyone who would turn away just because it's Nora Roberts and she's high royalty of romance writers.. DON'T! This is a suspenseful novel set in a beautiful small town in Wyoming. I loved everything about this novel and couldn't put it down! The two leading characters aren't perfect or flat, and you won't be disappointed with the action and pace of the novel either! I am recommending this to all my fellow readers!
A very enjoyable read from start to finish. One of Roberts' better novels.
This wasnt the best by Nora Roberts in terms of her standard romantic suspense titles, but I did enjoy the story. I thought Reece was a likeable character and once I learned why she was so jittery and tense, I felt a lot of empathy for her. She came across as a very believable character, having experienced what she went through in her previous life and I thought she was very brave for taking charge of her life and trying new experiences, despite her anxiety. I liked Brody immediately and didnt let his gruff exterior fool me. Reeces boss, Joanie and coworker, Linda Gail were wonderful supporting characters. The story flowed well, but was a little predictable, especially when the killer started stalking Reece, trying to make her think she was going crazy. I guessed early on who the killer was, but enjoyed finding out why he did it at the end.
Overall, this was a good story and fans of Nora Roberts and romantic suspense stories will enjoy it, but may not be blown away by it.

Reece Gilmore is a woman who is haunted by a tragedy in her past. She moves from town to town doing odd jobs. She always knows when it's time to move on. When she gets to Angels Fist, she finds herself in a place where she makes new friends. She finds herself with a job she's great at. It's a job she wasn't sure she could do again; she just had too many ghosts from her past. She finds herself settling down and fitting in. Then one day, when she's hiking in the surrounding mountains, she see's a murder...
This was easily one of Nora Roberts best books. This book was excellent. Kept me guessing right up to the end.
New one by N.R. Very engaging. Great plot and characterization. A woman, the only survivor of a brutal crime, settles for a time in Angels Fall, WY, taking a job as a cook. While hiking around the lake, she witnesses the murder of a woman, only no one will believe her. Only one man, a writer almost as reclusive as she is, takes her story seriously and their investigation begins. This book has character growth, witty dialogue, suspense and sizzling romance. If you like Nora Roberts, she does not disappoint with this one.
This book was one of the four Nora Roberts novels made into TV movies for Lifetime TV.
A fun read.

Angels Fall is one of my all-time favorite books by Nora Roberts. The characters are believable, the plot is full of suspense, and the setting is breathtaking. The book was riveting in such that I couldn't put the book down - Excellent book!
Excellent Nora Roberts book. Fast read, good mystery, great love story!
Nora Roberts always writes a very enjoyable book. The setting is exquisite, but I did not like the main characters much and was able to guess the murderer long before the book's ending. Still worth the read.....the lady can write!
Woman is driving to nowhere and car breaks down in small town and decides to stay for awhile. She takes a walk and takes in the view she sees a murder with her binoculars from across the water she is the only witness to the murder but when she returns with the police
there is no evidence that any murder occured nor a body....great story ...full of suspense......everyones a suspect!
there is no evidence that any murder occured nor a body....great story ...full of suspense......everyones a suspect!
What I love about all Nora Roberts books are the rugged lead men and the strong leading female roles... and this one is by far one of the better that I've read. The love story is great and the fast pace of this suspenseful story keeps the pages turning. It's a great read!
This book is a prime example of Nora Roberts recent years as an author. It is bold and exciting and holds you spell bound from cover to cover! The book has everything that a reader could want. It has mystery, action, romance and a great plot. The conclusion was a shock to me but it made a lot of sense with the flow of the story. It is definitely worth reading.
keeps you on your toes..
not bad..dragged out with details at some points but she is such a great author! I was able to narrow it down to 2 characters at the end which i was kind of bummed out about...hoping that it would have been a bit more challenging to figure out the killer...overall however she pulled through and it was a good book!!
My favorite Nora Roberts book. I really loved how she developed the characters. The lot was wonderful. i've re-read it twice.
Enjoyable story with good characters and a good plot. The twists and turns and the character development made this more than your run of the mill romance story.
This had a good mystery to it with a great, strong female lead and Nora Roberts' classic ways of intertwining romance and mystery/thriller.
Well written as are almost all of Nora Roberts books...love the plot twist..although I saw it coming for a while. Worth the time to read.
As usual, Nora Roberts put together a great story. I thoroughly enjoyed following the clues to discover the mystery, and the shock of the truth at the end. The romance portion of the story was also quite believable and enjoyable to read. One of my favorite things about Roberts' romances is that the characters are somewhat average people. As I grew up in Wyoming, this is one of my favorites because of its setting. Reading the book almost makes me feel like I'm visiting home.
This is one of the best books I have read. I love Nora Roberts and her earlier books are the best.
Number one New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts explores the wilds of the Grand Tetons - and the mysteries of love, murder, and madness - in her engrossing and passionate new novel.
ooohhhh, another good one by Nora Roberts. I'm not sure that I've read anything that I haven't liked of hers so far. This one has got a lot of mystery in it. Very good.
Nora Roberts is a great arthur, This is a wonderfull myster,I felt the romance fell a little short, but over all a good book,The back drop makes you wnat to move and the myster keeps you guessing.
Great read - very suspenseful! I look forward to the Lifetime movie coming up with Heather Locklear.
Reece Gilmore has come a long way to see the stunning view below her. As the sole survivor of a brutal crime back East, she has been on the run, desperately fighting the nightmares and panic attacks that haunt her. She settles in Angel's Fist, Wyoming-temporarily, at least-and takes a job at a local diner. And now she's hiked this mountain all by herself. It was glorious, she thinks, as she peers through her binoculars at the Snake River churning below.
And then she sees the man and woman on the opposite bank. Arguing. Fighting. And suddenly, he's on top of her, his hands around her throat....
Enjoying a moment of solitude a bit farther down the trail is a gruff loner named Brody. But by the time Reece reaches him and brings him to the scene, the pair is gone. And when authorities comb the area where she saw the attack, they find nothing. No signs of struggle. No freshly turned earth. Not even a tire track.
And no one in Angel's Fist seems to believe her. After all, she's a newcomer in town with a reputation for being jumpy and jittery-maybe even a little fragile. Perhaps it's time to run again, to move on.

Fast read - great story!
Well written and easy to read, with an interesting who-done-it twist. A thoroughly enjoyable book.

great book :)
It's a Nora Roberts...Enough said!
typical Nora Roberts....always a good read !!
Good book. Nice mix of suspense and romance. Not an obvious ending.
Excellent reading, one of her best, I give it 5 stars
Excellent read!
Very good reading and hard to put down. Set in the wilds of the Grand Tetons and is a story of the mysteries of love, murder and madness.
This is yet nother great Nora Roberts book.
Good mystery, very descriptive of the area. I identified the killer early, but maybe I read too many mysteries!
This had a good plot to it. Did she really see someone die, or was she crazy? I enjoyed it for the most part, it was just very long in my opinion.
This one is just amazing!
Scary enough that I checked the doors at night before I finished reading it. It really plays mind games.
Very good book. Hard to put down once you start reading it.
This is a really good one! Nora Roberts does it again.
Great read if you like Nora Roberts!
Very good Nora Roberts....kept me guessing until the very end.
Another great book by Nora. A real page-turner.
Another awesome story from Nora Roberts!
Roberts's latest novel of romantic suspense is a cunningly calibrated portrait of a young chef's recovery from violent trauma. While driving in the Grand Tetons, displaced Bostonian Reece Gilmore stops in the small town of Angel's Fist, near Jackson Hole, Wyo., and considers the "Cook Wanted" sign in Joanie's, a local diner. Still rattled by a shooting spree at her Boston restaurant that left her wounded and the only survivor among 12 co-workers, Reece is easily spooked, as noted by her plainspoken new boss, Joanie, and the locals who frequent the restaurant. Among them is a wary, unattached mystery novelist, Brody. Indeed, when Reece claims to have witnessed a murder while hiking along Snake River, few except Brody are inclined to believe the skittish new resident: Sheriff Rick Mardson hasn't found any clear evidence of a woman struck down near the river; Doc Wallace is suspicious of Reece's fragile mental state; and Joanie isn't about to cut Reece any slack while running a busy kitchen. Roberts cleverly casts suspicions on the locals while developing the romance between the two feisty protagonists. A slow-burn start combusts in a satisfying denouement; Roberts's legions of fans will be enthralled.

I love this author and this is one more great book from her. MUST READ.
This was the first Nora Roberts book I have read. If her story and character development are always so sharp, I know why she is so popular! This book has made me start the major undertaking of reading her "In Death" series under the name J.D. Robb. I am now hooked after reading only 2 of them.
Excellent. Really enjoyed this book.

Great story!! 5 Cd discs.
Another N.R. win! Good story.
Enjoyed this romantic mystery

As usual, Nora Roberts does NOT disappoint. Another great read (didn't want it to end)
The best thing about Nora books, are that even if you don't like one or two aspects of the story (a character, a secondary character, a major event etc or the oever all summary jsut doesn't get your interest), by the end of the book, it's nearly impossible not to like the over all story. I had a hard time liking the hero at the beginning, but by the end, I could understand why the Heroine fell for him! He wasn't all that typical, which probably made me like him more.
There was a good gradual build up of the story, with a town full of interesting characters and attention grabbing descriptions of not just the landscape but small town life as well...And the bad guy totally threw me off!
Another keeper from the awesomeness that is Ms. Roberts:)

Nora Roberts is the best!!! Another great book from my favorite author.
One of the newest of Roberts novels. Heroine of the novel has to work through her past to solve a mystery in the small town she comes to.

After all, she's a newcomer in town with a reputation for being jumpy and jittery--maybe even a little fragile. Perhaps it's time to run again, to move on.
Reece Gilmore knows there's a killer in Angel's Fist, even if Brody, despite his seeming impatience and desire to keep her at arm's length, is the only one willing to believe her. When a series of menacing events makes it clear that someone wants her out of the way, Reece must put her trust in Brody--and herself--to find out if there is a killer in Angel's Fist, before it's too late.

Excellent book. I couldn't put it down!
Fantastic! Great ending... kept you on your toes...
watched the tv show instead of reading the book
wonderful / characters / locales / story
very good book. i like most of her books.
Reece Gilmore has come a long way to see the stunning view below her. As the sole survivor of a brutal crime back East, she has been on the run, desperately fighting the nightmares and panic attacks that haunt her. She settles in Angel's Fist, WY and takes a job at a local diner.
Hiking one day, she sees a man and woman fighting. She sees the man kill the woman. When she tells the sheriff, he doesn't believe her neither do most of the townsfolk.
Only a handful of her new friends believe her one being a gruff, lone writer named Brody.
After searching and not finding any evidence of a struggle or murder things begin to happen to Reece to make her think she's going crazy.
------This is a really good book. I love Nora Roberts.
