I am a totally jaded mystery/thriller reader. I've been there and done that with the best authors in the genre. It takes a lot to impress me and a lot more for me to give a title five stars. Believe me when I tell you that this is not one to miss. I have ordered all of Mofina's other books and I can't believe how long this has been sitting on my to-be-read shelf. Just great on-the-edge-of-your-seat writing, plotting, character development along with twists and turns galore!
This was my first book of Rick Mofina's that I read a while back and the story still stays with me! Such a great book and this is the first in his Reed-Sydowski series! After I read this I made sure that I got every book in this series and am not disappointed that I got them!
If you have never read one of his books grab this one and start right from the beginning!!! You will be hooked!

The start to the series featuring journalist Tom Reed and Det. Walt Sydowski. An intense start to the series that I'm working my way thru.
Like Rick Mofina's books. Especially like the fact that he writes series and you can follow his characters in their lives.
First book in the Reed series and don't miss it and get started now, you won't be sorry. Right up there with Patterson
I think that Rick Mofina is one of the least recognized, greatest writer ever. His books are all super mysteries that keep you on the edge of your seat. I would recommend any of them.
IF ANGELS FALL:
From back cover: "There are some horrors a man can never forget. Sounds so chilling that they can never be silenced. The frantic screams of drowning children. The anguished sobs of the father who couldn't save them.
How long before those echoes give way to whispers only he can hear? to voices that promise redemption--from his private hell...."
Get to know Tom Reed a reporter for the Star and Sydowski a seasoned cop and many more characters in this great book. You won't be sorry.

Rick Mofina doesn't write bad novels and this one is no exception.
A reporter and a police detective are haunted by a child murder in which the killer was never apprehended. When another young child disappears, their old wounds are opened up as similarities between the cases start emerging.
This book is not really a mystery as the killer is revealed fairly early on, and some chapters focus on his activities. It is good cat and mouse thriller though, and the story is made stronger by Mofina's character development. Recommended for those who enjoy compassionate crime stories.
