Aaauuugh! Some of Shari's bad judgment is excused in a unique way (Olivia Joules handled the same situation much differently) but not why she sleeps with a guy she just met, lets him move in, then goes to England with him as soon as she can get a rush passport. I'm a hopeless Anglophile (I put on a Lush hair treatment & ate Jaffa Cakes while I read this book), but still!

I meant to read for Chemistry today but this book was so good I couldn't stop reading it. The story of Shari, a linguist stuck in PhD dissertation hell, is funny, smart and engrosing. Well-written with an unexpected ending which could have been elaborated a bit further.

I will admit that I skimmed through a few pages here and there, overall an OK read.

Started out slow and a little dull but picked up at the 100 page mark where I would normally give up and move on.

I really enjoyed Shari's trip to London and Abbey Road. :o) The supporting characters were very interesting as well. I thought things were left hanging with Shari's mother and Owen's father and unfortunately Owen really didn't develop into a three dimensional character. Shari's Aunt Dot was entertaining as well as the scenes involving the funeral of the skunk.

Pretty cute and fast read. Not quite as developed as Matzo Ball Heiress, but not bad.

Started out okay, and picked up in the middle, but totally fell apart at the end. Ending was rushed and somewhat implausible. Fellow anglophiles will still enjoy though. :)

This book was okay. There was nothing really brilliant about the writing or endearing about the characters. I do not think I would request another book by this author.

Shari is obsessed with all things British. Sounds like this would be an interesting read, right? And it was for about 100 pages, then it got long, awkward and took a turn right towards bad. Kind of like a promising date that goes belly up. Find a better rom-com and treat yourself right.

Not quite what I expected. Better!

For chit lit this book was pretty blah. I usually get through several books a week but I just had trouble getting into the plot. I also found the main characters to be very irritating and hard to like.

Shari is desperately seeking a tall, dark and handsome Brit!
