What a sweet story about Anne spending two years as a teacher in Avonlea where she herself had attended school. There were a lot of new and interesting characters in the story, as well as ones we remember and cherish from the first book. Anne is growing up and so many things are happening, while she still has an imagination and a love for things that are "so romantic". I thought this was a good book, but not as addicting and interesting as the first one was for me to read. I thought this was going to be like the Anne of Avonlea mini-series I grew up watching, but I suppose that story happens in a later book, and I was surprised but delighted by this story.

The second installment in the Anne Shirley series by Canadian author L.M. Montgomery. If you loved Anne of Green Gables, then you will thoroughly enjoy this book. Anne is now a teacher in Avonlea and also is taking care of twins (more twins for Anne!). She gets into a series of mishaps and scraps, making this book fun, exciting and sweet. It will make you want to read the rest of the series.
I loved each book of the Anne of Green Gables series!! Such good stories. Even after I saw the movies I enjoyed the books. I will not part with any of them. These novels are easy to read and timeless.I highly recommend the series.
This is the 2nd book in the Anne of Green Gables series. I enjoyed this story as much as the first book. Just like the other book, Anne finds adventure and mishaps that make you smile and laugh out loud. Anne is starting to mature, but you can still feel the quirky, imaginative little girl everyone falls in love with in Anne of Green Gables.
It has been a long time since I first read this series, and I must admit that I remembered much less of this installment in the life of Anne Shirley than I did of her scrapes and adventures in _Anne of Green Gables_. Still, this made for a delightful read, and it always put me in a better mood, even if I only read a chapter or two at a time. To see the world through Anne's eyes certainly improves it! And though Anne was much more grown up here at the age of 17, she still managed to fall into some mischief, and the antics of her students and Davy brought genuine joy and laughter to the book. I can't wait to see what is "around the bend" for Anne Shirley!
