This was a great book. I like Sandra Brown's Historial romance. Always a good read for me. This book pulled me in right away and kept me interested throughout. Banner and Jake are great characters!!
ANOTHER DAWN is the sequel to Sandra Brown's SUNSET EMBRACE, set 20 years after the Colemans and Jake Langston make the wagon train journey that changed their lives forever!
Lydia and Rosss daughter, Banner, finds herself left standing at the altar on her wedding day. She turns to Jake Langston, her parent's best friend and one of the toughest men in Texas. Unable to resist Banner, Jake lets emotions go unsealed that have them both wondering why they didn't know how they felt about each other long before now. But this love could end a friendship that has lasted many years and destroy her family.

In the late 1800's Nanner Coleman's wedding to Grady Sheldon is the talk of Larsen, Texas. Banner, the much beloved daughter of Lydia and Ross Coleman, is marrying the man of her dreams and anxious to become a wife and mother. When a woman bursts into the church on the day of the wedding and announces she is pregnant with Grady's child, Banner calls off the wedding in disgrace. Shattered by Grady's betrayal, Banner turns to another man in her time of need. Cowboy Jake Langston has returned to Larsen in order to attend Banner's wedding as the guest of his old friends Ross and Lydia. Jake has deliberately stayed away from Larsen over the years due to the fact that he has secretly been in love with Lydia, his best friend's wife. Due to his great love for Lydia, Jake has never married and refused to settle down. When Banner approaches him in the barn the night of her aborted wedding and begs him to make love to her, Jake cannot refuse her request. In the harsh light of day, both Jake and Banner are ashamed of their actions. As Jake and Banner fall head over heels in love, their unorthodox relationship turns into a scandal. As Jake and Banner fight to legitimize their relationship, Jake's friendship with Lydia and Ross is in tatters and a twenty year old secret threatens to ruin all of the Colemans' happiness.
This is a great historical by Sandra Brown. I have one on my keeper shelf.
This is actually my favorite book of all time. I read it before reading Sunset Embrace (which I'm reading now, again) and am actually naming my daughter from the book - her name will be Banner Cole Cross. I've had to replace my copy several times because of how often I've read it, but there will be a permanent copy one in Banner's room for when she's older . . . :-)
Love this book , its on my keeper shelf.
