Good read by Bear one of the best authors of Sci Fi today.
Too long for the material, but still better than average sci-fi.

I just couldn't get into this one. I love Greg Bear's books, but this one was just too much of a struggle to like.

The sequel to "Forge of God". Both books were recommended to me by a friend who's introduced me to many, many great books, authors, movies, etc.
I tore through both of these books, and enjoyed them both. There's a lot of plausible science here, and the space battles and weaponry seem much more like what actual combat in space would be like (none of this enemy fleets facing off firing lasers at each other nonsense)

I'm always in awe when I read one of Greg Bear's books. How does a person create such a believable world to such a detailed level, and keep track of it all. This is the sequel to Forge of God, and was equally as brilliant and such a joy to read.
I always get totally sucked into Bear's characters. They are so perfectly detailed, and have believable personalities. I still miss Olmy from the Eon, Eternity, and Legacy series.
