Torn by hate, LaRisa Chee had seen the cruel imprisionment of her proud, rebellious Southwest tribe, the Chiricahua apaches, in far-off Alabama, and it has hardened her heart against the white man. so nothing prepares her for her father's dying plea that she escape her people's fate and return to Arizona the only way she can--by marrying one of the enemy.
Dr. Spencer Colton has dedicated his life to helpling the Apaches. From the first moment he meets the beautiful LaRisa he feels the hot desire between them-- and the fiery antagonism. He is willing to save her by making her his wife. but if she then asks to leave him, can he let her go free---once he has tasted their reckless passion, ridden by her side through a dangerous land, and fought for a place where nothing can stop their love..

loved LaRisa's spunk and courage. Spence was a wonderful hero, the perfect mate for the heroine. LaRisa faced prejudice for being Apache, but her kind heart finally won her the respect of those who first looked down upon her.
