As houseguest of one of the Huntington Museums board memebers, and busy with her sestoration project, art restorer Andrea Perkins is dimly aware of the discovery of a corpse on the grounds of the museum. LAPD detectives Tina Roberson and Eduardo Lpez, however, are very involved, exploring a connection between the dead body, a vagrant named Goochie murdered on his way back from the Santa Anita racetrack, and the acts of graffiti artist who is spraying garish clothes on the statues. But when the search for the killer begins to involve Andreas hostess, Andrea must confront a disturbing appearance of evil that even wealth and beauty cannot hide.
