I really enjoyed these stories - a perfect spooky read for October! I think as long as you know going in that they are very short, you won't be disappointed. (It's more like saying "Hi" to Sookie in the hall in passing than getting to settle in for a visit with her.) I was sorry to see no Harry Devlin story this time around, but enjoyed Faith Hunter's so much that I'm going to seek out her series.

I was so happy to get my hands on this anthology. The Ilona Andrews story was great. Her daughter gets her first case. The apple theme goes through all of the stories. A good book to check out of the library, I couldn't find it issued as a paperback, so it was very expensive for just a few good stories.

The Ilona Andrews story was the best. I enjoyed it even though I'm not caught up in that series (Kate Daniels). To do over again, my anal self should have read in order. Speaking of another series on my TBR (but not started) I didn't enjoy Faith Hunter's story. I think because I'm not familiar with the characters. The Sookie story was okay, I think it would have been better had it not involved a gun, a school, and a an evil man. I liked Nancy Holder's story.
