Plot was decent - character were okay. But thought it was a slow read overall. Wishing I didn't take the time to finish it. Bummed as I enjoy this author.

A bit different from her other books.
Not bad, engaging characters, each with their own quirks.
Seemed to cover all the bases on the children, everyone seemed a bit odd.
Tennis was the only life they were able to lead.

Lots of twists and turns that make sense in the end.
Covid even played a part in the story due to the timing of her writing.
A good read over all.

I found the book hard to get into. It started to pick up speed about half way through. The end dragged on.

What an enjoyable read! I smiled my way through the book, even when the characters were going through something unhappy. Its narration of the dynamics in one family in suburban Australia is warm, affectionate, intimate, relatable and sometimes humorous. Even a minor character, like a hairdresser for the family who gets a page or two, comes across as real and enchanting.

This is BY FAR the BEST book I've ever read! The characters came to life, and I could almost envision them talking to me. The story is amazing and so captivating...could not put it down.

Not a bad story, different I'd say. But since it's from the 'Covid/pandemic/quarantine/lockdown' era, the author felt compelled to add that in at the very end. Otherwise a good read.
