This was a great read. Especially if you are interested in the Seattle underground of the late 1800's. Winding suspense.

Thirteen novels later, Pearson moves from espionage to modern crime thriller, keeping pace with contemporary authors in this 2002 story.

Daphne Matthews is the main character in this novel but Lou Boldt and John LaMoia are there to help her solve a murder. I like all of Pearson's books and this one is no exception.
