There are a lot of characters in this book, and they all have stories. Just when you think this is a story about one character, it goes in another character's direction. They all intertwine, back and forth. I can't say I loved it, but I didn't hate it.

How can we escape the damage done to us in the past? Can the power of love and redemption make us worthy of forgiveness? This is a coming of age book with addiction and mental health issues. The characters are well drawn and the plot has a lot of depth it has beautiful writing with a nice pace. I look forward to reading more by this author. Recommended.
Two cops who live next door to each other. One whose wife is mentally disturbed. Their kids are friends. There is a horribly tragic event that reverberates through the next forty years. And then there is forgiveness. Good ending and good story. Well told, well written.
