This is fast paced and really good. I was sucked in immediately and didn't want to put it down until I knew how it ended. The espionage angle is downplayed, which was nice although I do enjoy a good espionage story.

Morrell at his finest. Love all the intrigue and intense labyrith of his plots.
good story
Thrilling, very well written. A real page turner.
A story of an undercover operative who has assumed multiple identities in his missions
Morrell at his finest! He has presented the reader with a spy master with personal demons of his own. And, not only does he streak across country chasing the bad guys, he even comes to think that maybe he's running from his own agency. With plots and sub plots that have you reeling, you don't find out until the very end what the baddest guy of all was really up to.

The protagonist is Brendan Buchanan. He also goes by other names - Potter, Crawford, Block, Davis - in fact, over two hundred others. A member of a special-operations until so covert it may as well be run by ghosts, Buchanan is a master of impersonation, a specialist in assuming false identities. But now his unique gifts - and desperate pathology - threaten to destroy him. The beginning of his nightmare occurs in Cancun, Mexico, where Buchanan's latest alias is brutally unmasked. Racing through a torturous escape route, he is shocked to discover that his controllers will no longer give him a new identity. For the first time in eight years, he will have to be himself. But after spending so much time assuming different identities, he no longer knows who he is. Suddenly, he receives a mysterious postcard, a coded, unmistakable plea for help. Its source is Juana Mendez, a former partner who had posed as his wife six years earlier, countless missions ago. In his quest for Juana, Buchanan is thrust into a stark wilderness of mirrors and faced with a harrowing conspiracy. Yet he finds the unreadable maze of his own mind as dangerous as the harsh, chilling world that assails him from without. His partner in the search is Holly McCoy, a reporter whose beauty is matched only by her determination to penetrate Buchanan's multilayered psychological armor and write her subject's real story. Seeking one woman, while inexorably drawn to another, Buchanan relentlessly follows a seductive but deadly trail from Key West to New Orleans, from San Antonio to Mexico City. Ultimately, he will find the truth about Juana, and even the truth about himself - if he can survive.
started it and after just a few pages decided it was not one I wanted to wade through 500 pages and a lot of it just descriptions, so didn't waste my time.
If you enjoyed Borne Identity, this is another thriller in the same vein, with a qualified Seal performing undercover work so long he loses himself. There are many twists and character changes as this agent assumes various identities - and deals with betrayal of the worst sort. Entertaining, teeming withe danger and battles, and with a strong character picture, you are sure to put this down - after the last page only.
It is the ultimate nightmare of a deep-cover specialist---to come face-to-face with someone from a previous mission. In the middle of a dangerous operation in Mexico, Brendan Buchanan is hailed by a man who knew him from another time and place. This meeting spells catastrophe for one who has spent all of his professional life under assumed identities in many of the world's most perilous places. And the consequence is that Buchanan's career could be terminatied. Just like Buchanan himself.
Read the first 5-10 pages and thought I wouldn't like it. Put it down to read another book. Picked it up after finishing the other book and read a bit further. By then I was hooked. Excellent spy-suspense story. I absolutely could not put it down.
