This true story begins as Grover and her partner flee both the real violence of the LA riots and the fictional tv violence she's been obliged to write. While in search of a new home and new way of life, they encounter only more evidence of a failed system. By chance, Grover and her partner happen in on the annual lakeside "August Celebration" of an unusual new micro-culture led by a man and woman who are cheerfully determined to save the world their own way. From initial skepticism and doubt to eventually sharing the passion and vision of the people she encounters, Grover takes us on a journey of hope. Her story also reveals practical, close-to-earth ways to help us revitalize ourselves, our society and our planet.
