This was another wonderful adventure story. I really enjoy this seris of books.
Laura and here children are once again on an adventure with Aunt Dimity and reginal in tow. It is a wonderful mistery that shows a mothers love will stand against anything for the protection of her children.

A great Aunt Dimity book. Set in Scotland, Nancy Atherton has done a wonderful job of showing Lori's belief that everyone is fundamentally good and that good will triumph over evil. In the end, when evil seems to be winning, Lori steps in to show what happens to those who disturb a Momma bear's cubs. If you like this series, I recommend reading "Deep Blue Sea" before reading "Goes West" as this one sets up the other.

I can not get enough of this series. I adore the characters, I adore the settings and I adore the fallibility and the deep caring that binds Lori Shepherd to her friends and family.
Loris rather calm life is suddenly turned upside down when death threats hit home and her and the lives of her twin 5 year old sons are threatened. Bill calls in a trusted family friend, Sir Percy Pelham and his gigantic helicopter to whiz them away while Bill stays home going through old files to see who is holding a grudge.
But life cant be that simple for Lori, after arriving at Percys castle on an island off of Scotland, she begins to notice things that just do not make sense. Like why do simple sheep ranchers need satellite dishes and gourmet food in the market? What are these villagers up to and can Lori figure it out, before jumping to too many conclusions, before the true danger arrives.
Peter a character from previous books makes reappearance and its nice to see what he has been up to. I highly recommend this series - its a great breakaway from the heavier stuff in our TBRs.

Once again Lori Shepherd finds herself in the middle of a mystery but this time there is nothing she can do. Bill has been threatened with the death of his family (Lori and the 5-year-old twins). The police are working to try to identify the person writing the letters and advise that Lori and the children go into hiding. While in exile Lori, of course, finds a less threatening mystery to solve.
I have enjoyed all ten of the previous Aunt Dimity stories and Nancy Atherton's latest book did not disappoint. Aunt Dimity and the Deep Blue Sea has everything a cozy reader could hope for. Readers who are put off by the idea of a ghost among the cast of characters should know that Aunt Dimity has recently begun to play much less of a role in the stories; Lori is very much center stage. She's a strong heroine who is only getting better with age.

I have read all the books to this date in the series and I have to say this was one of the best. The plots within the plots were done well, the suspense was great and it has an ending you will never see coming. All the old friendly characters are there of course including Reginald, Aunt Dimity (well, sort of), and Lori and Bill. The only thing I missed was that it does not take place in Finch with all the village characters. But the story makes up for that!

Disappointed in this title in the series, which has its highs and lows. Lori and her twin sons are sent to Scotland under eye of bodyguards because someone has threatened to kill her boys. Once in Scotland, that mystery is somehow forgotten when Lori suspects the locals of smuggling. Aunt Dimity plays little or no part in the story although Lori journals nightly. At the very end the psycho killer reveals himself. Just started out on one mystery, diverted and then u-turned again.

Wonderful twists and turns to a good plot and always the warmth and hope that Nancy Atherton is so good at weaving her tales around. I can be in the worst mood ever and 2 pages into an Aunt Dimity book, it has vanished. Thank you, Nancy Atherton...your books are much better for stress relief than any medication!

The Aunt Dimity series is wonderful, I've only started reading them, but you can't help but love the characters and the unusual plots. There is nothing "cookie-cutter" about these books!

It's been a while since I read a cozy mystery, and I guess you have to suspend a lot of things you know about reality to really enjoy it. Maybe because I have dealt (more or less indirectly) with crime and serial killers in my previous profession, I don't find stalkers and cold-blooded killers, and for that matter, death, that amusing. I didn't find her portrayal of the characters very deep or very realistic, and as for characters who own private islands off the coast of Scotland, forget it!

Bill is in trouble, being threatened, then when his family is threatened, they must take refuge on a Scottish Island, in a castle belonging to a wealthy friend. Another good installment in this series, perhaps a bit more violent than usual.

As Aunt Dimity story lines go, this one has a bit more intrigue and suspense. Some reappearances from previous adventures. Great location at a castle on an island with limited access. Another great read!

This is probably my least favorite in the Dimity series. I seems that the author built up the story line with the unseen attacker but she never developed his character which is key to the reader. The actual entry of this "evil" character was far too short and left the author trying to tie up the loose ends during a dialogue section at the end.
