I can't believe that I'm up to book number 12 in this series. I love these characters and can't wait until I can read the next.
This book did catch me a bit off guard. Dimity seems to have a harder edge in her writing to Lori. Not that Lori doesn,t need it, but Dimity has always been the soft sympathetic ear that Lori desperately needs.
As Lori is trying to recuperate from her near death experience with Abbadon, Bill decides to literally take the bull by the horns and sends Lori and the boys as far away from Finch as possible. That being a ranch in Bluebell, Colorado. Loris not too sure about this, picturing a shack but what the Aerie turns out to be is a spectacular home perched over an abandoned mine. But this isnt the quirky part, that lies in the people of Bluebird itself. They all remarkably resemble Loris friends back in Finch. Even Dimity thinks that Lori has finally lost it, that is until she, Dimity, meets her own counterpart.
When Lori finds out that the homes owners left in a hurry vowing to never return, everyone in town talking about the curse and the twins start picking up bad language that they swear they hear in their room at night -- the overly curious Lori embarks on getting to the bottom of this. With the help of the caretaker they enter the mine that should have been closed off years ago.

I love the way that Nancy Atherton writes her stories, they are clean wholesome stories that the whole family can read and enjoy. Ms. Atherton keeps you in suspense and Aunty Dimity is so sensible and causes Lori to think straight. This book was very good because it had a surprise in it that I had not read in the other Aunt Dimity series - and I have read them all. I believe that anyone who reads this one book will want the whole series as I did when I bought my first book a few years ago, now I have the whole collection and will pass them on to my grandchildren who also loves to read as much as I do.
Lori Sheperd heads West to help her get over her last adventure.
The Dimity books that take place in Finch are my favorites. Even though this one takes place in Colorado, I can add it to my list of favorites. You'll have to read the book to figure out why. ;)

Another warm, wonderful Aunt Dimity book...may they never end!
I love Colorado, so I greatly enjoyed joining Lori and the twins on their trip there. This book had a great surprise ending.
I agree with all the other reviewers...the books in this series are "keepers," ones that I will enjoy over and over again over the years, and this 12th book of the series is no exception!
A highly enjoyable read that you won't want to put down!

I've really enjoyed this series and this one is no exception. Very good.
This is one of my favorites, so far. Lori goes to Colorado with nanny and twins in tow to recover from the events in the previous book. There, of course, she finds herself in the middle of a delicious mystery involving, essentially, the whole town. Local bullies, tales of ghosts, adventure - it's wonderful. Also, I found all the doppelgangers Lori encounters highly entertaining. I did like the mention of Kit and Nell in this book - I so love those two characters, and am so excited whenever there is mention of them, especially in a romantic context.
5 stars, as usual. I think the Aunt Dimity books should set the standard for cozy mysteries!
