A heartwarming story in the Aunt Dimity series. In Aunt Dimity's Christmas, Lori & Bill are preparing for the holidays when a mysterious stranger is found unconscious in their yard. This one is a bit more serious than the typical Aunt Dimity book.

What a wonderful book to remind us once again of the true meaning of Christmas. Lori has humongous plans for her first holiday with the twins, plans that are sure to run everybody ragged. But all those plans are put on hold when a stranger collapses in the snow in front of Bill & Lori's house. Lori's quest to find out who this mysterious stranger is teaches the valuable lesson of Christmas to Lori and the whole town of Finch. Very well written as usual and has all the characters we have become so familiar with. You won't want to miss this one!

After reading Aunt Dimity Digs In and not being impressed I wasn't sure that I was going to continue with this series, but this book changed that. I really enjoyed this one. Lori Shepherd is determined to make this the perfect Christmas for her young family and new firends but when a homeless man collapses under her lilac bush all plans seem to fall to the wayside. Lori learns more about the spirt of giving then she thought possible.

Further adventures of Lori Shepherd and Aunt Dimity. This adventure takes Lori from war torn airfields to homeless shelters in search of the truth about a man found in her front yard during a snow storm.

Very good book....had trouble putting it down at night to go to bed.

This is the first book I read in the series, and I was surprised by how much I loved it. Very much so. It is the perfect book with which to cozy up, and I just adored all the characters. I'm so excited that there are so many books in the series. I'll be reading them all for sure! Five stars.

This is a marvelous Christmas story with a good mystery plus reminding us all about what Christmas means. Lori finds a tramp at the end of her snowbound cottage. He is close to death, but he is taken to a hospital in time. But who is he? The trail makes for interesting reading.

This was my very favorite of the Aunt Dimity series, though I like them all. Ayoung man arrives, they don't know where he's from , he does good deeds-- does this sound familiar? It is not so like the Christmas story to be boring though-- It was great.

I love these books so much I couldn't wait til Christmas to read this one. Lori finds a barely-alive man in her lane and she and the local priest seek out the tramp's identity. Are her plans for a perfect family Christmas in jeopardy?

Christmas with Aunt Dimity, what could be better?

This book lets you get to know Lori even better, and Kit is a wonderful new character to the series.

All the twists and turns with warmth and hope that you've come to expect from the Aunt Dimity series. I hope it never ends!

Having read the later books in the series, I was already somewhat familar with Kit and how he entered Lori's life. It was great to finally read it.
Lori has settled into life in her cottage and is busy raising her twin sons. She's desperate to have a great Christmas, but her husband is quickly called back to the States to attend the funeral of a friend. Lori quickly become busy trying to solve the mystery of the stranger who collapsed outside her cottage.
Lori is not the only one enchanted by the stranger. With the help of Father Julian, she tracks down those who knew Kit and piece together his past.
Kit is one of my favorite characters in the series and I was glad to find out more about him.
My only complaint was that the book was very short at just over 200 pages. I would have liked a little more.

I adore the Aunt Dimity books. They're unlike anything else I've ever read. They're heartwarming, cozy in the best sense of the word, uplifting, and fun. That said, I had a bit of trouble with this one. Most of the story is logical, well crafted, and fun to read. I had trouble, however, with Lori's total infatuation and belief in this homeless guy after spending maybe a minute total looking into his eyes as he is semi-conscious in the hospital. From that brief exposure, she KNOWS he's a great person, could not possibly have ever done anything wrong (even when there's evidence), and must be defended and believed in at all costs.

Huh?

Nevertheless, allow the author the luxury of this unlikely event, and the rest follows as the night the day. I'll give it a month, then dig in to the next book in the Dimity series. (No pun intended.)
