this is one of the best biographies ever written. as someoone else noted it is more about Gertrude than Alice.
if you are going to read it,it is a little dated but a good read

Fun and educational.
Very interesting book. Stein casually mentions famous people she associated with. If you like something different, try this book!
I absolutely loved this book. Hard to part with it...but I send it off into the world to touch upon another person.
Strange. The author (speaking from Ms. Toklas' perspective) refers to herself by her full name, all the while substituting her name for "she" and "her." I suppose instead of "we" or "us" she used "Gertrude Stein and I." I really wouldn't know as I couldn't make it past the first chapter.
The inimitable Gertrude Stein.
Its is a very interesting book. Get to hear quite abit about artist when they were new. It says its about Alice, but a majority is about Gertrude, herself. Well worth the read.
