New Orleans Police Sergeant Beauregard Dupree has spent the last 10 years raising his three orphaned sisters. Now that the last one is about to leave the nest, he's looking forward to impending bachelorhood. And when he's ordered to guard prim and proper Bostonian Juliet Rose Astor Lowell, Beau decides to get himself unassigned from this latest round of babysitting duty by exposing the prudish lady to the rather uncivilized side of life in the French Quarter.
What good old Beau doesn't know is that a passionate woman exists under Juliet's buttoned-down exterior, and Beau's ultra-macho treatment only unleashes her wild side. Juliet is fascinated by the seamy joints Beau drags her to, and she's also intrigued and aroused by the sexual innuendoes designed to anger her. It isn't long before Beau is having way too much fun with the woman he wanted to ditch, and Juliet is craving the handsome Southerner in ways she never imagined. And while the two attempt to dismiss the threat to her life, the danger is very real. When someone takes a shot at Juliet, Beau starts to take his bodyguard duties very seriously, while Juliet struggles to deal with the fact that someone wishes her harm.

Not only does Be My Baby bubble with hilarious dialogue, superb sexual tension, and the color and heat of New Orleans, but it also possesses a solid suspense subplot that perfectly balances the wonderful romance.

Read all 372 pages in a day. Action doesn't stop, and the steamy 15 pages or so made me, well, have a hot flash!

funny book, as the cop does everything and anything to annoy the debuntante,so he does not have to protect her but his plan back fires on him.

Fast read mystery romance that follows the same boring theme. Juliet is rich, prim, & proper. Beau is blue collar police sergeant assigned to protect her at her rich daddy's request to the department. Typical repressed woman versus virile studly cop. A little mystery with attempts being made on Juliet or Beau's life. Of course they end up in bed, fight, & make up. The New Orleans language written in the book was irritating & hokey compared to other books I've read with the Cajun dialect.

This was a really cute romance and a pretty fast read.

Prime and proper Juliet Rose Astor Lowell doesn't want her body guarded by anyone while she's in New Orleans for the grand opening of Daddy's new hotel --- especially not by consummate macho cop Beau Dupree. He's just too big, too pushy, too virile too... everything! His shameless, hungry-eyed gaze shakes her carefully cultivated decorum like no one ever has, but Juliet is a Lowell--- and there's no way she's going to lose control!
The lady is downright delectable, but Beau has more important things to do than babysit a beautiful Yankee rich girl. So he deciedes to get himself pulled off of the assignment by driving the oh so proper socialite beyond the bounds of her good-girl restaints.
But who would have thought that real passion sizzled beneath Juliet's polish? When she lets her hair down, she just might prove to be more than enough woman to handle Beau-- but will he be able to handle her?

Put a Yankee beauty named Juliet Rose Astor Lowell in New Orleans and assigned a city cop named Beau who has not interest in babysitting a spoiled little rich girl and the resulting heat has nothing to do with weather.
