Diane Fanning did a great job with this book. She gave the details of this particular case, but also showed the collateral effect of the crime. I had no idea there were so many cases like the Bobbie Jo Stinnett case. It was a fascinating account of the area, the people and the case.

This book not only told about Bobbie Jo Stinnett's murder and theft of her unborn child but told of other women who had their unborn child stolen. Hard to believe women can commit such a brutal murder.

Very good fast read. Although my personal opinion is the book covers little on the actual crime compared to all the other crimes the author goes off on. It is very interesting but so far most of the book is about other similar murders. Even some crimes that were committed in the town having nothing to do with stealing babies.
What it does cover about the main story is most about Lisa and her past life which led to the crime.
Still a very interesting good book.

Sadly this wasn't the first time someone was kidnapped and murdered for their unborn child. About 7 years ago a woman named Theresa who lived near me was lured by another woman named Michelle under the guise that she wanted to buy Theresa's Jeep that was for sale. A large scale hunt for Theresa ensued. Meanwhile Michelle presented her husband with what he was told was their newborn son. She sat a sign out in her yard that said "it's a boy!" The next day while her husband was at work neighbors saw her digging a hole in her dirt floor garage. Police had Theresa's phone records and it was found that the last person she spoke with was Michelle. When police went to investigate, Michelle locked herself in a bedroom and shot herself. The police took the baby boy to the hospital and had him dna tested, and it was found to be Theresa's baby that she was expecting at the time of her disappearance. Police searched Michelle's home and sadly found Theresa's body under the dirt floor of the garage.
Something similar also happened in Utah the baby girl was returned to her father who later remarried and had more children.
There is also a book called saving grace, a true story about a woman who was lured to a woman's house under the guise that both had similar names Sarah Brady and Sarah Brody. Sarah Brady was pregnant and due to give birth to her daughter the next week when "Sarah Brody" called saying that because their names were similar some gifts meant for Sarah Brady were sent to "sarah Brody"'s apartment. A Sarah fought for her life and the life of her unborn child. The woman that tried to kill her died after Sarah Brady fought back. Police found a fully stocked nursery, and supplies to do a c section. Sarah Brody hadn't been pregnant at all. Read this book it has alot of twists and turns as Baby Be Mine, and Murder in the heartland (this book follows the same story as Baby Be mine)
