I liked this follow-up to COLD TO THE BONE; I think a new reader wouldn't miss much by starting here. Beginning scenes are full of action and there's a nicely creepy set-up out on the lake with the deserted boat. Lots of corruption and double-crosses going on, but for the most part I figured out who the good guys were although I thought maybe there were a few too many bad guys on the list. Good sense of place, I had a better mental image of it this time around, and it zipped right along. I didn't care for Hayes putting Jordan in danger again though, twice in two books is enough. I'd read another if the series goes on.
