KILLER STORY
If you haven't been introduced to Hitchcock Sewell, unwitting part-time detective and suave full-time undertaker, choose any of Mr. Cockey's 5 books at random. You won't be disappointed. His characters rock along in tales that are quirky, frisky, and light. And, hey, along the way you'll learn some interesting trivia to share about the secret life of embalmers. How many books offer that?

Hitchcock Sewell Mystery #5. One of Hitch's high school buddies, Sisco, calls him out to the scene of a brutal stabbing, which just happens to take place in his girlfriend's kitchen. Did I mention that the dead guy was the girlfriend's husband? Sisco hoped Hitch would haul the body away in his handy hearse and get rid of it for him, since he (Sisco) was seen publicly threatening the man just a few days before, so even though he's innocent he knows it's going to look bad. Naturally, being the nice guy he is, Hitch would do no such thing, but he's still been irrevocably drawn into the murder mystery and his old friend Lt. Kruk has some questions for him. I love this series! Hitch is so real, and I love his family and circle of friends too. This is the last in the series for now, according to the author, so I'm whining. LOL

I like the protaganist in this light series, Hitchcock Sewell. He's a present day Archie Goodwin, if you know the Nero Wolfe series by Rex Stout, except instead of being a PI he is an undertaker. It probably doesn't matter too much if you read in order in this series...
