Linda Fairstein's novel Bad Blood takes you into the underground world of New York City. There is a whole world of men called Sandhogs who have built the subway system, water systems, and anything under the ground in New York. They have their own justice system. After an underground explosion kills the brother of the defendant in a murder case Alex is prosecuting, Alex and Mike enter the very private vengeful world of underground New York.
This is the 9th of the series. It can be read alone, but the story will make more sense if you have read her other books.

Gets off to a rather slow courtroom start, with Alexandra Cooper trying what appears to be a weak case, but the action builds steadily towards an exciting end. I really liked this book!

Interesting characters and relationships. They sound like people I would like to know, competent people who care about one another and others. Exciting plot with many twists, in an exotic environment. The author gives us excellent value for our time.
