When I read "Hot August Moon", I got hooked & just had to read the next installment, "Bad Moon Rising". It did not disappoint one bit.
I had to read it in one sitting; could not put it down. I highly recommend this one!

This was a pretty good book. I had looked forward to reading it after reading Sutcliffe's "Hot August Moon" from the Lover Beware anthology.

Like previous reviewers, I had the killer figured out about half way through. Ummm... well up till about 3/4 of the way, I had another suspect in mind as well, but still the real one was the one who I'd suspected. Still, it was suspenseful, with just the right amount of romance blended in too.

From the back cover:

Once, J.D. Damascus had a wife and two children who were the light of his life. He was the most feared assistant district attorney in New Orleans. Now, four years later, he's a man on the verge of a breakdown. A down-and-out lawyer barely scraping by since the vicious slaying of his family by the notorious French Quarter killer. Damascus is certain that the wrong man was convicted and executed for his family's deaths. And his fears come to pass when the French Quarter killer returns, and a new killing spree begins.

Holly Jones escaped the dangerous red-light district, but her best friend wasn't so lucky. When Holly hears that the French Quarter killer is alive and again prowling the streets, she risks her life to save her friend from becoming his next victim. Confronted by a police department intent on keeping the serial killer's resurrection from becoming public knowledge, Holly is forced to turn to Damascus for help.

This book is about an ex ADA who has a politically connected family that he's the black sheep of. He's lost his wife and kids to a brutal murder, and four years later meets a woman he can finally fall in love with. Only the woman has a bad past and his relationship with her puts him in danger, and even deeper in trouble with his family. The woman is somehow connected to the murder of his wife and kids, as well as a serial killer who has tortured and murdered a bunch of prostitutes in New Orleans.
