Crazy book! Dean Koontz is brilliant at writing the latest "nightmare". In this book, a man is afraid to fall asleep because each morning when he wakes up, something strange has happened. One morning, he's covered in blood. Another morning he finds a bag of cash next to him. He finally hires two private investigators to help him. What they uncover shocks them all!

This is one of Koontz's earlier books, but is one of his finest. Husband and wife private investigators are caught up in supernatural events as they help a client who must continue to teleport himself to escape superhuman forces out to destroy him. The wife's brother, a wonderful character who has Down's syndrome, is also telepathic and provides a great counterpoint to all of the evil against which they must fight. Koontz is a master of making the unbelievable believable. A great read.

This book was great. I started reading it at the same time as another book, and it was so good I put the other book aside to totally concentrate on this book. It grabbed by total attention by the second chapter and was very engaging. I strongly recommed it to any Sci-fi reader and it is a definite reader for anyone who like Dean Koont's books.

This book was terrifying, gripping, haunting, a real page turner. It contains a classic duel of good and evil. Synopsis: Frank Pollard awakens in an alley sensing he is in great danger. However, not remembering anything except his name. He takes refuge in a motel and awakens with blood on his hands. Over the next few days he fears sleep because each time he wakes up he discovers strange objects in his hands or in his pockets. Bobby and Julie Dakota are a husband-and-wife detective team. They specialize in high-ticket corporate security investigations. However, they help Frank Pollard out of compassion and curiosity. But as the Dakotas begin to discover where Frank goes when he sleeps, they are drawn into ever-darkening realms where they encounter the figure stalking Frank. Thomas is Julie Dakota's Down's-syndrome brother. To him, death is the "Bad Place".

This is a scary book. I like to read at night before going to bed, couldn't handle this. If you enjoy Kean Koontz and not easily scared, this is the book for you.

This book is a fast read. I had read it many years ago and decided to re-read it. Although the characters were vaguely familiar, I enjoyed it just as much this time and the last.
