"A brave, uplifting, hilarious, and heartbreaking book. One of the best books I've read this year. I loved it." Patricia Gaffney, author of The Saving Graces

Not a book about cancer, but about a person and her family as they deal with life, which includes cancer. Direct, funny, touching and a wonderful read.

I thought this was a wonderful book, full of both pathos and humor. It would be especially poignant for families with young children as you read how she dealt with the anger and outbursts of her son when she was totally debilitated with chemotherapy. Neither sugar-coated nor overly horrific (as if it could be), this is a riveting chronicle of one woman's navigation through the morass that is cancer.

This book started out STRONG!
I loved the author, her thoughts, decisions, words...
but as the book went on, it got a little dry.
too much detail over the sex life, and the final chapters almost made me give up on the book.
The spiritual chapter was awesome-
The chapters seem to drift from one time, to the past, to the present, and back again... little hard to follow.
will be looking for other books by this author to see how she writes about other things!
