Bangkok 8
Author: John Burdett
Burdett's thriller is razor-edged, darkly comic, crowded with astonishing characters, and thick with the authentic--hallucinogenic--atmosphere of Bangkok. Smart, skeptical, worldly and open-eyed, literary and wildly readable--"Bangkok 8" is one of a kind.

In addition to having an excellent plot this book brings alive a side of Asia and especially Bangkok that I have never before experienced. I enjoyed it immensely all the way through.

A unique mystery-thriller unlike anything I have ever read, Bangkok 8 is the first of a series starring Royal Thai Police Detective Sonchai Jitpleecheep. I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Highly recommend!

You are in the midst of crowded Bankok as you follow the adventures of Sonchai as he tracks down the killers of his policeman partner.

Wow -- this is fabulous! Great, memorable characters, a very twisty plot, highly atmospheric, complex, brutal, often funny, and heartbreaking. Highly recommended.
