In addition to having an excellent plot this book brings alive a side of Asia and especially Bangkok that I have never before experienced. I enjoyed it immensely all the way through.

Wow -- this is fabulous! Great, memorable characters, a very twisty plot, highly atmospheric, complex, brutal, often funny, and heartbreaking. Highly recommended.

You are in the midst of crowded Bankok as you follow the adventures of Sonchai as he tracks down the killers of his policeman partner.

A unique mystery-thriller unlike anything I have ever read, Bangkok 8 is the first of a series starring Royal Thai Police Detective Sonchai Jitpleecheep. I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Highly recommend!

Above-average detective yarn with an exotic background, shocking crime, Buddhist detective, and more twists than a plate of Pad Thai. I don't think Burdett always played fair with the reader, but it was an interesting read anyway. His commentary on the sex industry in Thailand was especially interesting. (RE-POSTING. Book had been removed from listing due to computer problems.)
