Fast paced, violence, horses ... what more do you expect from a Dick Francis book!??
Tim Ekaterin, young scion of Ekaterin Investment Bankers, saves the day when he finds his boss standing in the fountain outside their office. Mayhem and menace build from there. Ugly rumors appear in print in the gossip papers. The bank, on Tim's say-so, loan millions on a superb racehorse--whose progeny end up with genetic defects--the only contingency left uninsured. Tim races against the clock to uncover the cause, to uncover the truth of the rumors, and to save the bank. Most threatening of all, he falls in love with his boss's wonderful wife.
If you enjoy Dick Francis this is one of my favorite. It is written as all the others around horse racing in England.

Excellent mystery/suspense novel, combining merchant banking and horse racing.
typical Dick Francis, quick moving, fast read. If you liked his other books you will enjoy this one too.

Love Dick Francis! This is his usual exceptional mystery with a lovable main character.

This is a very interesting story."Banker" by Dick Francis is one of the best yet that I've read of his many novels. The characters, most of whom were the good guys, I really came to like and care about. As in every Francis mystery, the main characters get introduced early on with others coming in later in the book, and the plot thickens also a bit later in the story. This one is no different, but I loved the dialogue and the conversations that the group of friends and acquaintances had during luncheons, visits and dinners. They were very believable, as are all the characters.
