Decent read- rather predictable. Good because you don't need to think a lot.

Really enjoyed this book. It is the second in a series, so make sure to read "Some Enchanted Evening" first. Can't wait for the third installment...

Great historical romance. Liked how the heroine captured the hero at first. Put an interesting twist on the plot.

I enjoyed the book. I agree with the other reviewer, it was slow to start out but it did pick up in the end. Also recommend reading the books in order so you don't get too confused.

I toyed with the idea of giving this 1 star, but because Dodd has written books that I've enjoyed, and this one amused me in rare instances, I'm being generous. That said, this is one of the biggest wastes of time I've ever had the misfortune to read, and if I didn't need the pages for the game I'm playing I would have left it unfinished. Princess Amy is the youngest of the 3 princesses of Beaumontagne, the country she and her sister Clarice were sent away from when the people rose in revolution. Feisty and tomboyish, she has survived assassins searching for them and ended up on the English isle of Summerwind, owned by the marquess of Northcliff Jermyn Edmondson. The islanders are destitute, and to help them, Amy concocts a scheme to kidnap the marquess who she feels is responsible for the islanders' plight. It backfires when his uncle refuses to pay the ransom, and of course she ends up falling for him. Dodd's stories are usually fun, but this one was simply inane, stupid and outrageously corny. She seems to be running out of good ideas for plots, characters and witty conversation, because she can and has done so much better. Must've really needed the money.
