The Barons Governess Bride by Deborah Hale
Glass Slipper Brides Book 3
Grace Ellerby's life has not been easy. After her father's death her "evil stepmother" sent her to a school for Vicar's orphans. Grace had to suffer from something unusual...her beauty. Fellow students were jealous of her and teachers demeaned her. Her saving grace had been her close friends. They still wrote regularly and two of them even found true love and happiness. Grace just wanted to keep a governess job where male attention didn't send her running. Thus her plan.she uglified herself. Cinderella covered in ashes.

Widower Lord Rupert Steadwell needed an ugly governess obviously. He couldn't have his three daughters endure another pretty governess leaving them for marriage. When he met Miss Ellerby he knew she'd be perfect. She looked the perfect part of someone who accepted their plainness and knew marriage was not an option. He watched her win his daughters over and he even became fond of their walks together. But he had an obligation to marry again and produce an heir.who knew his decision would cause such chaos in his home.

Deborah brings her characters to life and has you turning the page after page hoping that Rupert can see the beauty within the plain governess. She brings out the unique, adorable and obstinate personalities of Graces three charges as well. A unique and delightful story with hints of the old fairy tale, Cinderella. This is the third book in the series. Book 1 is Much Ado About Nuptials and its in a Novella Called The Wedding Season, Book 2 is The Captains Christmas Family. Enjoyable stories of girls who had a hard life and never would have thought their lives could have fairy tale endings.

I liked this one better than the first book in the series. I finished this book in 3 days. Like all romance books they are predictable but I enjoy the interchange between the two people involved and how they wound up together.

This is an engaging tale of a governess of great beauty who out of fear thinks she needs to hide it from her employer. Her fear is of the unwanted advances that were forced on her in her previous workplace. The reader understands her fear but Rupert her new employer is not that way. When she accidently meets him without her disguise, the story sweeps you into not putting it down until you have finished.

"The Baron's Governess Bride" by Deborah Hale 2012.
(This is a Love Inspired Historical) 2nd Book in the Glass slipper Bride's Series.
Grace Ellerby had been beautiful all her life. When her father died and her step-mother sent her to the terrible Pendergast School, she was tormented because of her looks. When she became a governess, she had more problems with single men in the houses where she stayed. Thus she felt her only recourse was to disguise herself. She went to her next interview with her disguise in place.
Lord Rupert Steadwell had three motherless daughters. Their last governess had run off to be married. Rupert didn't want that to happen again so he chose Miss Ellerby because she was so plain and unmarriageable.
Grace came to love the girls but was still skittish around Lord Steadwell. The girls discovered her disguise and wanted Grace to go to a mask ball to stop their father from remarrying.
Can Grace put aside her fears and go to the ball? Does Rupert see through her plain disguise?
Lots more to the story. No detailed sex in this one.
Happy Reading!
