This is an interesting book about making, decorating and revitalizing woven baskets. If you have ever wanted to make a basket, the tools, supply lists and basic instructions are given for weaving a basket made of a variety of materials: vine and coil carriers, those made of grapevines and flat, thin woods (balsa?). I'm still scratching my head about the bark cone basket. I did not feel that there were enough directions to make each of these baskets but the color photos were great.
The info offered on filling the wire planting baskets it seemed to be do-able. One of my favorite baskets was the log cabin baskets; it is easy to make and durable.
The Second chapter includes projects & techniques for customizing store-bought baskets, antiquing a basket & making living (plant & flower) baskets. Overall, I thought this was a pretty picture book with some ideas about using baskets in your home décor. It might offer ideas, but one would have to find another book for real instructions. Another problem: This tome was published in 1989. Fashions come and go in décor and some of these suggestions seemed a bit dated.
