I have read several books form this author over the past few weeks, and have loved them all. This one may be my least favority. Yes, I still read the whole book in one day, but it was a bit slow. The two love interests were barely in the same room together. I had to skim through the last half of the book. Not really the one for me. I might have enjoyed it more if I hadn't read her other books, and had my expectations set so high.

Don't let the picture fool you, this is not a Harlequin Romance. This was a fun read but not Ms. Heyer's best. It was a little predictable, but never boring. It is well paced and I would recommend it to someone who just wants a fun, frivolous read.

A quintessential Heyer. A charming, sweet period romance.

Short & Sweet Review: What I liked? The main characters were not at all conventional. What it lacked? Tenderness that I so love! I wanted a better ending... (sigh) Don't get me wrong it was romantic of sorts, just something was missing...
