I enjoyed this book so much. It' epic. Travels generations and there is not a boring moment in it. I highly recommend it.

This is a unique story about the settlement and changes in the delta of Louisiana.
It is an important work because as well as the human history, Jekel describes the impact of settlement on the environment. In light of the April oil spill in the area, the environment will be changed yet again. A good "old" book is never out of date.

I've read all of Jekel's books. If you just like to get lost in a good story, her books are marvelous.
