Charming little book that relates the story of a lab escapee beagle, who turns the life of her 'finders' upside down. She teaches her new family a great deal as they struggle to adjust to each other and 'Bea' the beagle learns what being a dog is all about.

A wonderful story about Bea, a beagle who got a second chance at life after escaping from a lab. She went on to live a long live filled with love, which she learned to return. I cried and laughed and finished this book in one night - I truly couldn't put it down. It brings about an awareness of animals used in lab testing altho it doesn't cram it down your throat or dwell on it - just makes references. A wonderful story for any animal lover. Another "keeper" for my shelf.

Heartwarming story of a former lab dog's transformation into a beloved family member. Good resources included to learn more about the horrors of unnecessary animal testing. Highly recommended!

This was a heart-warming read. I fell in love with Bea. Even though she had a horrible start in life, due to the caring and gentle souls of the author and her husband she left this world knowing the smell, touch and feel of love. My heart breaks for any animal trapped in the labs that are still in use today. This book is a voice for the forgotten ones. A must read for anyone who cares for and about animals.
