One of R.L. Stine's pre-Fear Street YA novels and part of the Point horror label that includes authors such as Diane Hoh and J.B. Stamper.
A story set outside of the familiar Fear Street locale, detailing the happenings of a small group of friends one summer on the beach. The story mirrors two unfolding horror-dramas, one set in the 1960's and one in the 'present day', each one marked with horrific brutal deaths on the usually serene beach.
One of Stine's better YA novels that doesn't follow the formula he would later create for his Fear Street and Goosebumps series. A clever storyline and an enjoyable easy read - highly recommended!

Swim.
Sunbathe.
Die.
The sun is hot. The water's cold. And the kids are cool.
Too cool to live.
Because a killer is stalking them, one by one. A killer who never leaves a clue. Who disappears completely as a footprint in the sand.
A killer who has found a very special place in the sun
for some very special fun....

I'm 24 now, but read this book as a teenager when it first came out. It's one of the best!
My 12 year old daughter read this and give the book 8 stars. She said that it was very good.
It's a quick read, but still a good 'teen' book.
I love these old RL Stine books.....rather predictible as his books are but still a fun read

R.L. Stine fans will want to read this one. Kids are hanging out at a local beach and are being stalked. A very good read.
