In a cave in the woods sleeps a brown bear. All winter long the bear snores on...even though several other forest animals hole up in his cave. Then one day he wakes up!
All time favorite book in our household!! We LOVE the pictures and expressions on the animal faces. The book is written in a sing-song poetic type verse. Excellent and fun vocabulary to share with your children! Lovable characters, beautiful word choice, wonderful message of friendship, and fantastic illustrations! You will love the whole series, but this one is the best!!
Excellent read aloud story for toddlers. Set in late winter, the bear is hibernating & his friends decide to come in out of the cold to have a party in his den. The festivities wake our friend bear who, after grumbling a bit, joins the party.
This is one of my favorite books to do for story time. I have the kids snore like the bear. The story keeps them listening and the illustrations are very nice.
Lots of fun for everyone. It's hibernation time and bear is asleep. While he sleeps other animals shelter in his cave from the cold winter. They build a fire, cook food, have a party, and bear sleeps on - but no for long. The full-page, full-color illustrations are evocative of all actions and emotions, as well as cute and intriguing.
Very cute! My kids liked it. The illustrations are very nicely done. From the back cover: In a cave in the woods, in his deep, dark
lair, through the long, cold winter sleeps a great brown bear.
