Lovely, a pleasure to read due to the author's readable style. The characters are drawn up in a way that makes you care about them. Highly recommended.
Clearly a first novel, that feels like a very well done writing exercise.
The protagonist is frustratingly slow to action, as the novel is slow to plot, but he sure is philosophical.
Maybe it's great and I wasn't in the mood.

Loved it!
This book had poignant moments, but overall was not a poignant book. A better choice, along somewhat of the same lines but nonfiction, is Strength in What Remains by Tracy Kidder.
