Very good read. This story is about the new duke (Justin) who's brother starred as Charlotte's love in the Cameron sister series. I am not sure if this is officially part of the series or not, but it was good, none-the-less.
I absolutely loved that these characters' misunderstandings are cleared up without much adu, and the driving force of the story doesn't suffer. It makes me crazy when the main conflict is something could have been fixed with just a confession.
Maxwell's characters are enjoyable and well-matched. I should have read the three Cameron sister books in order first - or at least refreshed myself on what I already read. This book was meant to stand alone, but as bits and pieces of the previous stories came to my mind, I found the story-line had more depth.
It's worth a fun read.

BEDDING THE HEIRESS, is proof that this master word smith (Maxwell) has not lost her touch. Consistently weaving together skillful plotting, a heady romance, delectable humor, along with a touch of dangerous intrigue has kept this author at the top of her game. Reeling you in from the very first page, Maxwell holds you enthralled until the last page is turned, and leaves you still aching for more. The lead characters are very well-developed with enough detail in their backgrounds that the reader can easily discern their motivations and their interactions with the numerous enhancing secondary characters all cleverly worked in to bring this story to life. Fans like myself, are sure to embrace this new hero who is caught between two worlds and will certainly look forward to the continuance of this fabulous series as Justin's enemies continue plotting to regain control of the sword of the MacKenna in this fabulously entertaining keeper.

This was a fun and 'juicy' bit of fun. The heroine is spunky, smart and determined - the hero gorgeous, strong willed and sexy. These two coming up against each other is something to be savored. Romance at it's most delicious!

Typical 'bodice-ripper' novel. Not as steamy as some other authors but it was adequate.

Maxwell books are hit or miss for me. This one was a hit without a doubt. This is a simple story of two people learning to respect and love each other. There aren't a lot of silly mistakes or miscommunications which is very refreshing. Both Justin and Francesca were spunky and fun.
Well worth the read. So far the best in the series. You don't have to read them in order because Maxwell gives you enough information, but it would help.
