Silly at times, but a fun read.
I found this book a bit silly, but if you like "supernatural" contemporary romance then it is definitely readable.
This is a contemporary romance book. It has been a while since I read it but I know I liked it as I do most of her books. Overworked female attorney meets hunky cop. It is a whimsical read - a great beach book.
Tax attorney, Penelope Sue Fields has become one of New Orleans' top experts, in under six months time. Romantically, the prim and proper Penelope is sadly lacking. After being passed up by males most of her life, it comes as quite a surprise when attorney David Hinson, begins to pursue Penelope. David is attractive, wealthy, and intent on marrying her but turns out to be so "not" exciting, Penelope invents a lover, Raoul.
Undercover cop, Tony Olano is investigating David, who has mob ties. Tony has seen Penelope on a date with David, making her a suspect in his case. Tony is confused when he observes Penelope visiting a Bourbon Street voodoo shop, nor why he is so attracted to someone who is obviously a prude. Penelope certainly gets his blood humming, though.
Penelope is stunned by her reaction to his BEDROOM EYES after a "chance" meeting on an elevator. She is immediately attracted to Tony, which is very good, because Tony doesn't seem to be going away.

a bit kooky, but, a funny book.
