The book was fairly interesting but it took a little while for the action to pick up. I also didn't always agree with how the author was portrying the characters. I kept thinking to myself, "Leia wouldn't say that," or "Luke wouldn't do that."

Not the best Star Wars book I've ever read. Not even close. I found myself constantly pushing myself to just trudge through the bad parts for the sake of saying I read it. I didn't have high hopes for the second book either, though I was pleasantly surprised. It was very good. I don't see how Kube-Mcdowell can write such a train wreck here, but have a stunner in his next book. Unfortunately you have to read this one to understand the next otherwise I'd say pass this one up. I say read this one so you can read the next one, Shield of Lies.
