The caretakers and manipulators of the Liver population are the Donkeys, humans who have undergone slight genetic modifications and generally seek to maintain the present status quo. But when the eccentric and dynamic Sleepless, severely genetically modified, unleash a plan to revolutionize society, an adventurous Donkey decides she must travel incognito in Liver society as she tries to unravel the threads of multiple parallel machinations.
