My favorite of all the Potok novels and I pretty much loved all of them. Potok has a way of writing about the private inner struggles and musings of the soul that go unnoticed by those around us.
This book took me to a time I never experienced and helped me experience it from a point of view I never could have experienced. Spanning the life of a young Jewish boy, son of Polish Jewish immigrants, it starts in the mid-1920s and follows the family through WWII. It is a beautifully written book and I'd highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys coming-of-age stories.
Another wonderful book by Chaim Potok! The main character David grows up in this book sharing the pain and anguish he experiences along the way and how you is able to use it to make himself into the young man he becomes.
