I've listened to the first 6 books of this series on audio, and they are fabulous! I've not read the books so I can't compare the written to the audio, but I highly, highly recommend the audio versions. The reader has a fantastic range of voices and accents, all quite believable, and her energy is contagious. Her portrayals of all the characters and settings leave such vivid images in my mind. And the flow of each story is so effortless and spot on that it is quite obvious how well written they are.

What an exciting and entertaining story this was. You wouldn't think that a story that takes place mainly in the filthy, dark hold of a slave ship would have much scope for adventure and excitement, but it sure does. I really enjoyed this story very much.
