I had really high hopes for this book; I love the late Victorian era and am a true sucker for anything regarding the Royal Family.
The mystery itself is good--enough twists and turns and a somewhat surprise ending ensures I will read the rest of the series. I also enjoyed many of the trivial pieces of information about the Royals; however, much of the time, the placement of that trivia seemed "off" and it often proved a bit of a distraction from the story line.
As this is the first of a series, I'll certainly give the author another chance, but I am very sad to say this is not currently a keeper series for me.
